Roadside help privacy notice

Updated October 25, 2026

This notice covers the roadside help pages at nationwideautomotivegroup.com/roadside, run by Nationwide Automotive Group, 2256 Broad St, Frankfort, NY 13340. It adds to the shop's main privacy policy.

What we collect when you send a request

  • Your name and mobile number.
  • Where you are: your phone's GPS position if you tap "Share my location" (one reading, at that moment), and anything you type about the road, direction, mile marker or exit.
  • Your vehicle: type, make, trailer and trailer type, company or fleet, unit number, USDOT number if you give it, and the fleet code if your company gave you a link with one.
  • What is wrong, your notes and messages, and up to 6 photos.
  • The star rating and comment you leave after the job, if you leave one.
  • The language of the page and the time of each step.

What we do not collect

  • We do not track you. The page reads your location once, only when you tap the button, never in the background.
  • No account, no password and no cookies on these pages.
  • No advertising or analytics scripts run on these pages. Our server counts page views as a daily number with nothing about you in it.
  • We use your internet address only to limit how many requests one connection can send. We keep a scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the address, for about two days.

Photos

Your phone shrinks each photo before sending it. Our server saves a new copy without hidden details such as the camera's location data. Photos are seen only by our dispatchers and the technician assigned to your job. We delete them 90 days after the request is closed or after 90 days without any change, and right away if a request is spam.

Who sees your request

  • Our dispatchers (the owner and staff he authorizes) and the technician assigned to your job.
  • If you used a fleet code, your company's contact may receive a copy of your request.
  • The companies that run this service for us, only to run it: Cloudflare (these pages), CarHaulHQ on Amazon Web Services (the request system) and Apple (alerts to our dispatchers' phones and, in the app, to yours).

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We do not text you from this page: the Text button opens your own messaging app.

Your status link

The status page link carries a private code. Anyone who has the link can see the status, add to the request or cancel it, so share it only with people you trust, such as your fleet dispatcher. It shows the status, the arrival estimate, the technician's first name, the place you gave and your own messages, never your phone number. The link stops working 7 days after the request is closed.

Saved on your phone

The page keeps your request number and status link in your browser so you can find them again, and it remembers your name, phone number, company, unit and truck so the form is filled in next time. If you have no signal, the request and its photos wait on your phone and send when the signal comes back while the page is open, or the next time you open it. The page also saves a copy of itself so it opens on a weak signal. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it.

The Roadside Truck Repair app

The Roadside Truck Repair app for iPhone sends the same request as these pages and is covered by this notice. If you allow notifications, the app gives our server a notification address for your phone, used only to tell you when your request changes, and removed when it stops working. The app keeps your saved trucks, your name and number and your past requests on your phone. Deleting the app, or tapping Delete my saved info in the app, removes them.

The technician on the way

While your technician is driving to you, the status page shows where the technician is, so you can see them coming. That position comes from the technician's phone, not yours, and stops showing when the technician arrives.

How long we keep requests

Requests are kept as the shop's job records. To see or delete what we hold about you, call (315) 922-9680 or write to us at 2256 Broad St, Frankfort, NY 13340.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
